An infant female Bornean orangutan who was kept illegally as a pet in Tenggarong, East Kalimantan, was seized this week by Indonesian wildlife authorities (BKSDA) and the Centre for Orangutan Protection (COP). Estimated to be just 11 months old, the orangutan was transferred to COP’s rehabilitation centre in Northeast Kalimantan, and becomes the 15th orangutan seized in the past 7 weeks.
