An infant female Sumatran orangutan who was being offered for sale in Aceh Tamiang was turned over to the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC) by villagers who were afraid of being charged with wildlife trafficking. The orangutan, which is critically endangered, is estimated to be 2 years old, and has been taken to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP) to begin her rehabilitation process.
